Pop-Up Italian Roman arenas

On May 19, I led a "pop-up card workshop" to teach how to build a card pop-up inspired by roman arenas, particularly by the Colosseum in Rome and the Arena in Verona. The Workshop was organized by the Italian Cultural Centre of Bristol and involved a dozen children who have designed, cut out and built their imaginative and colorful pop-up arena.

    1. Grazie Elisa! fra un po' apro il novo sito dove c'è tutto e questo e altro.. ed è in italiano ed in inglese, così spero di creare una rete più vasta tra noi insegnanti di arte italiani!
Grazie del commento, buona estate e a presto!

  2. This is amazing! I'm a social studies teacher in Monroe, LA and would love to use this to incorporate arts in my social studies classroom, but frankly I'm a complete novice when it comes to projects like this. Do you have a step by step process for these that you would be willing to share?

    1. Everything that you see in the pictures is my own step by step process. I drawn and cut and paste by myself... perhaps the most tricky part is the "stair step" that you have to build with the inner cardboard. You can see the purple cardboard that I've cut to create this stair-step? On the vertical side of it you paste the arena... tell me if I could help you with more instructions or photos...
